Hardeep Dhindsa, M.D., FACS
FOUNDER & VITREORETINAL SURGEON
As the founder of HD Retina Eye Center, Dr. Dhindsa established the practice with a commitment to delivering specialized, high-level retinal care to patients throughout Northern Nevada. He is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon dedicated exclusively to the medical and surgical treatment of complex retinal diseases.
Known for his precision, expertise, and patient-centered approach, Dr. Dhindsa combines advanced surgical skill with compassionate care to help preserve and protect vision.

Nicole Bloom, PA-C, MPAS
PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT (PA-C)
Nicole is a board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in vitreoretinal care. She provides comprehensive retinal examinations, advanced diagnostic interpretation, and ongoing management of retinal conditions in collaboration with the physicians at HD Retina Eye Center. With prior experience in retina before PA school, she is dedicated to delivering precise, compassionate, and patient-centered care focused on preserving and protecting vision.
Nicole Bloom, PA-C, MPAS
Originally from the Bay Area, Nicole moved to Reno in 2019 and quickly fell in love with the community and beautiful Northern Nevada landscape. She joined HD Retina Eye Center shortly thereafter and spent four years with the practice prior to PA school—beginning as a technician and scribe before advancing to clinic coordinator and primary assistant to Dr. Dhindsa. These experiences solidified her passion for ophthalmology and inspired her to pursue her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine, where she graduated in August 2025.
Nicole is a NCCPA-certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) and is licensed by the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners. She is grateful to return to HD Retina Eye Center in her new role as a PA-C. She is especially passionate about educating patients on retinal conditions in clear, memorable ways that help them feel informed, confident, and actively involved in their care. She also values building meaningful connections with patients and learning about their individual stories.
Outside of work, Nicole and her husband enjoy exploring Reno with their dogs—discovering local breweries, shops, and restaurants, and taking in the stunning Reno-Tahoe views.

Conditions We Treat
Macular Degeneration
We will provide you with the latest and most advanced treatment for dry and wet macular degeneration, including pharmaceutical and surgical interventions, including 360 degree macular rotation in select cases.
Macular Disease
We specialize in diseases involving the center of the retina. We also have state of the art equipment to image your macula. These conditions, such as macular holes, macular pucker and vitreo-macular degeneration, can severely affect central vision but are often amenable to surgical and in some cases, non surgical management.
Retinal Tears and Detachments
We can often fix these potentially blinding conditions in the office but also have ready access to several operating rooms as needed.
Diabetic Retinopathy and other Vascular Diseases
With extensive experience in surgical, laser, and medical treatment for diabetic retinopathy and other vascular diseases, you can be assured that all treatment options will be available to you. We will work closely with your medical doctor to optimize your diabetic control and prevent complications of retinopathy.
Uveitis
Dr. Dhindsa and Nicole Bloom, PA-C, have extensive experience managing a wide range of uveitis cases and other forms of ocular inflammation. For complex or specialized cases when indicated, we also collaborate closely with Dr. Albert Vitale at the Moran Eye Institute, former President of the American Uveitis Society, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care
Inherited Retinal Disease
Dr. Dhindsa has worked in geographic regions with a plethora of genetic conditions and will update you on the latest treatment and trials depending on your condition. These conditions can also have secondary complications which we will manage.
Lens Surgery
Northern Nevada has many excellent cataract surgeons. However, should there be a need for advanced techniques to remove your natural lens or place an intraocular lens implant, Dr. Dhindsa and can take care of this for you.
